Meet Our Doctors

Greg Zimmerman, DVM    

Dr. Zimmerman graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University in 1978. He has been practicing in Iowa City since that time. He currently concentrates on dogs, cats, and pocket pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, rats and mice. In the past, he has treated reptiles and birds and was also the veterinarian responsible for the Macbride Raptor Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Zimmerman has had numerous rescue pets over the years, with the most notable being West Highland Terriers and Boston Terriers. 

Outside of animal medicine, Dr. Zimmerman's main hobby is building and flying home-built aircraft. Check out the link below to see Dr Zimmerman flying in one of his planes, alongside some friends!  (Dr. Zimmerman is in the white over black airplane with 35HB on the side.) 

Paul Graettinger, DVM

Dr. Paul Graettinger graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University, and has remained as a practitioner in Iowa ever since. He is a lover of all animals and currently treats dogs, cats and pocket pets. As part of his undergraduate research, he also studied birds of prey, including owls. Since becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Graettinger has taken many animals under his wing, rescuing dogs, cats and rabbits.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Graettinger enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, and keeping abreast of quirky news from around the world. He is also an avid swimmer, a sport he mastered as a youngster and continued through college as a member of an NCAA team.
